Multidisciplinary Artist

About Me

I'm Sydney Silva, and I've been doing art since I was little with my dad! I love challenging myself by trying out new mediums: stained glass, chalk murals, and window displays just to name a few. This is my third semester at San Jose State University, recently transferring from West Valley with AAs in Communication Design and Liberal Arts.

In my free time, I play clarinet and bass clarinet for the West Valley Symphonic Band and the San Jose Wind Symphony, and have been involved in music for 10 years! Both music and art go hand in hand for me, as they challenge me to creatively problem-solve and express myself.

Experience

Although I mainly focus on digital art now while working towards a BFA in Digital Media Art, my experience started and still stems from traditional art forms. I've had the opportunity to work with a variety of mediums, and am always eager to continue learning.

In my own ventures, and through my education, I've worked with a variety of software, including Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, and After Effects, as well as 3D software like Blender.

Community

I'm always looking for ways to use art to engage with my community, whether it's through an interactive installation, painting window displays for hometown businesses, or volunteering to be a face painter for local events!
